What first-timers wish they'd known

The weather can swing from cool and comfortable to hot and stormy fast

Hit the big rides early

Morning temperatures are usually more comfortable, and major coasters can build longer waits as the day goes on. Knock out your must-rides before the afternoon heat and crowds peak.

Do not underestimate the humidity

Southwest Ohio summer days can feel much hotter than the temperature suggests. Water, sunscreen, and occasional indoor or shaded breaks make a long park day much easier.

Keep an eye on afternoon storms

Summer thunderstorms can develop quickly and temporarily shut down outdoor rides. Use weather delays for food, shopping, indoor attractions, or a break instead of treating them as lost time.
