What to expect at this park
Enchanted Forest is a family-owned Oregon theme park built into a wooded hillside, with Storybook Lane, an Old European Village, Western Town, family rides, live entertainment, a Haunted House, and handmade attractions dating back to the park's early years. It is smaller and more intimate than a major regional amusement park, with much of the experience centered on exploring the themed environments rather than racing from coaster to coaster.
The hillside terrain makes comfortable shoes especially important, and Western Oregon weather can call for both a light layer and rain protection depending on the day. Families can also bring their own picnic food, making a small cooler, snacks, and drinks unusually practical here compared with many larger theme parks.
Plan around these
This park is built on a hill
The forest setting is beautiful, but the terrain is genuinely steep in places. Comfortable, broken-in shoes matter much more here than the park's size might suggest. The park itself warns guests about its steep slopes.
Rides cost extra
Park admission and ride tickets are separate. Ride tickets currently cost $1 each, with most rides requiring 3–5 tickets per rider.
Bring the picnic
Enchanted Forest actually welcomes and encourages guests to bring their own food and picnics. That's a major difference from many of the parks on Vacation Travel Kits.
Pack for Oregon weather
A cool or cloudy morning can turn into a comfortable sunny afternoon. A lightweight layer and compact rain protection give you flexibility without filling the bag.
Expect to get wet
The Big Timber Log Ride ends with a 40-foot splashdown, and the park explicitly warns riders that they will get wet.
Arrive before the midday rush
Walk-up admission does not sell out, but the park warns that parking can become limited on busy days between roughly noon and 2 p.m.
Check the official policies before you pack
Bag sizes, cooler rules and prohibited items change without notice. We link straight to the park's own pages rather than repeating details that might be out of date.
